Is our paycheck the stronghold of our life, or God Almighty? If He is truly our foundation, why are we more concerned about disappointing our bosses than disobeying God?

Our bosses, family, or friends cannot save us from future events which they are clueless about. God knows everything that is against you or that can potentially harm you – and He is the one who promises to keep you. And thankfully, He is the only one that can, so He is the only one that matters. Why then do we fear men so much?

“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galations 5:10)

This week, let’s identify all the ways the fear of man is keeping us from pursuing God wholeheartedly, or from completing a task He put on our hearts. We cannot please God and continue in fear – fear will only starve the faith that is necessary to please God, receive His love, and hear from Him clearly. Fortunately for us, His perfect love is committed to casting out all fear (1 John 4:18).

And he said, “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.” (Daniel 10:19)
