It’s so easy to become known for what we don’t do, rather than what we do as Christians.

This leads to a deprived spiritual man that’s kept hostage by a safe and timid flesh nature – a spirit man unable to venture out into the unknown fields of faith and adventure for fear of what the flesh “might do”.

But this is not the life Jesus died for you to live.

His last words to his saints were “go” (Matthew 28:19), not “DON’T GO or you will stumble and surely fall”. He declared that all authority in heaven and earth had been given to him so we were now free to venture into the world’s hopelessness bearing His light, legacy, and leadership.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light and find out what pleases the Lord. -Ephesians 5:10

Yes, it would be unwise to live a defenseless life without core disciplines such as community, accountability, prayer and fasting. But these are just the beginnings of a winning strategy, or the Christian call to be salt of the earth. Equipped with the breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, and more – we have now been left in the earth to advance on the enemy and usher in heaven to earth with our understanding of Scripture and the Father’s love.

Disciples, we must shift our perspective.

Stop asking “how far is too far before it becomes sin” or “How much of my own way can I get away with” and start “finding out what pleases the Lord” (Ephesians 5:10). Let’s get a clue on why a man died for us to know Him and the kingdom He so graciously wants to give us (Luke 12:32). He has purchased the access to His presence, to pleasures forever more – yet we settle for the empty sugar highs of society that never satisfy.

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. –Luke 12:32

Believe that God can be thoroughly enjoyed.

Because He doesn’t lie, and He has joy afforded for you on a daily basis (Psalm 16:11). Then ask Him to give you the wisdom to seek it out and unwrap it each day. Get what He paid for!

Only a fool leaves an inheritance untouched.

REFERENCES:

  • For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. –Luke 12:30-32
  • And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” –Matthew 28:18-20
