Why You Should Avoid That Fling

For those of you wrestling with a fling that you know you need to cut off, or not open the door to at all – here are a few encouraging tips to stay focused and avoid the baggage.

You only end up with more baggage for you and your husband to deal with.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
You are not only wasting your time, but God’s time. Because if He hasn’t sent a husband yet, this is a season to focus on Him.
1 Corinthians 7:34
And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband.
That’s someone else’s husband you’re playing with. Don’t be messy and plant those seeds. You will reap what you sow for future relationships.
Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
You’re destroying that virtue of self-control that you’re going to need, even once you get married. This suffering is actually good training ground on how to protect the attacks that ARE gonna come on your marriage.
Romans 5:3-5
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
That’s not you talking. That’s a spirit of lust trying to use your body for its own pleasure. Don’t let that spirit boss you around, tell it to go to hell!
Romans 6:12
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.

So let’s roar with wisdom into this year beloved. Purity is possible.
